Climbing & Adventure Trips 2013 Season
Alpine Sports Club Inc continues its popular Snowcraft Course again this winter followed with a series of climbing and adventure trips to the Southern Alps and beyond. This year there is a climbing trip to the Southern Alps and another trip to Port Pegasus, Stewart Island. Dates listed below. Check the Trips page and the Bulletin Board as well. The minimum standard for climbing trip is to have completed the Snowcraft course
Mountaincraft is skill of being able to travel safely in dangerous places in the mountains. At its extreme is Alpine climbing, a huge adrenalin rush, fantastic scenery and teamwork based on protecting each other's safety and even life.
For most people it is the skill necessary to enjoy the mountains safely and includes such skills as :-
If you want to step out into the mountains, move up to alpine climbing or be more adventurous with your skiing then you should consider the mountaincraft course and the climbing trips listed below.
