                           Trip Planning and Bushcraft Workshops for 2009

       

     

These courses are designed to provide necessary skills in:-

  • Trip & route planning

  • Mountain navigation

  • Risk management

  • Outdoor First Aid

  • Weather assessment & climate

  • Gear & Equipment

  • Food and planning

  • Emergency & coping with difficulties

The courses are run from the club hut in the Waitakere Ranges with some evening courses and practical sessions in local parks or local ranges and appropriate. The workshops are great fun and a good opportunity to meet other club members. These workshops are for club members and prospective members.

                                Alpine Instruction

 

Alpine Sports Club Inc. also runs a very successful Alpine Instruction Course.

This years course will be a single weekend of snow skills on the weekend 12/13 September, but there will be several climbing weekends. Keep a watch on the Trips page for dates and details.

 

Note also the technical Skills Weekends at the Cardrona Speights Ale House each 3rd Tuesday of the month with Brian Duffy. Details and links on the trips page.
